Jundee Gold Project
Jundee is an active gold mine located in the Yandal Goldfield of Western Australia, 590kms north east of Perth, and approximately 193kms north from the township of Leinster. Jundee, the largest of the Yandal operations, began production in 1995, originally as an open pit operation and from 1997, also as an underground mine.
BGC Contracting were contracted to move 2.5 million bcm of material for the surface mining operations within the Gourdis/Vause Satellite zones. The scope also included rehabilitation of the waste dump and laydown areas.
BGC originally undertook the drilling, blasting, load and haul operations on 3.22 million BCM of ore and waste material sourced from nine satellite pits. Three pits located at Area 7 (20kms from mill). Two pits located at Gourdis (42 kms from mill). Four pits located at Vause (45kms from mill).
