Wodgina Iron Ore Project

BGC Contracting’s relationship with Atlas has been a mutually beneficial one as it has seen the two companies significantly grow their businesses together over the past 5 years.

BGC Contracting's relationship with Atlas has been a mutually beneficial one as it has seen the two companies significantly grow their businesses together over the past 5 years. Currently, BGC is drilling, blasting and mining at Atlas' Wodgina iron ore project. The value of the contract is $420M and the site is located 120km south east of Port Hedland.

WODGINA MINING CONTRACT

The Wodgina Iron Ore Project uses conventional open pit mining techniques involving drill, blast, load and haul methods with an initial mining production rate of 18 Mtpa, increasing to 22 Mtpa. Ore crushing and screening will be undertaken using existing infrastructure at the Wodgina mine by Atlas Iron Ore Limited (through CSI Crushing).
BGC Contracting was awarded work for the load, haul and dump of 26 million BCM of ore and waste including maintenance of the mine’s road infrastructure and breaking of oversize rock.

The Wodgina contract will conclude with the life of mine.

Three years after commencing work at the Wodgina mine, BGC Contracting was awarded their second greenfield mining project with Atlas Iron for contract mining services at Atlas' Mt. Webber mine.
