Plutonic Gold Project

Located approximately 170km north east of Meekatharra in Western Australia, Plutonic is an operational gold mine currently producing 110-115koz a year.

CONTRACT MINING

The total contract volume was 6.5 million BCM and was completed with a successful safety record, achieving in excess of 1 million hours lost time injury free.

BGC Contracting was awarded the mining, ore haulage and crusher feed contract, valued at $90 million.

Two mining fleets operated within a 60km radius of the Plutonic Mill. Other mining works include the rehandle of low-grade ore, clearing, rehabilitation and transfer of underground ore to the ROM pad.

The BGC fleet hauled up to 150,000 tonnes per month from various satellite mining operations to the Plutonic Mill. Haulage operations from 9km to 56km were undertaken by Big Foot road trains with payloads of up to 150 tonnes. Additional works include road maintenance and crusher feed activities.
