Elazac Quarry

BGC Contracting has completed various contracts for material supply sourced from the quarry.

Elazac Quarry is a large resource of construction rock located near Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. BGC Contracting has the rights to the resource and owns and operates the entire infrastructure at the site.

MINERAL PROCESSING

The permanent on site processing facilities at the quarry were designed and installed by BGC Contracting. It includes two 2 stage recirculating load crushing and screening circuits capable of up to 5mtpa throughput.

The deposit of tough blue stone dolerite is blasted and then processed into: 

  • Railway ballast
  • Sub ballast capping
  • Road base course and sub base
  • Concrete aggregates
  • Breakwater armour rock
  • Scour protection rock

The quarry is permanently operated and generally has stocks of various materials to service the construction materials needs of the Port Hedland region.
