BGC Mourns Passing of Founder and Chairman, Mr Len Buckeridge

BGC (Australia) Pty Ltd, one of Australia’s largest privately held companies, confirmed that Mr Len Buckeridge, BGC’s founder and Executive Chairman, passed away at his family home on the 11th March 2014 at the age of 77.

This is a sad day for the BGC family.

Mr Buckeridge was an icon of the Australian home-building industry. He was a visionary with a clear personal purpose of providing affordable housing for Western Australians. In achieving this personal philosophy, he built BGC into one of Australia’s largest private companies creating employment for more than 5,000 employees and thousands of sub-contractors, and made a huge contribution to the State’s economy.

While the loss of Mr Buckeridge will be felt across the BGC Group, the Company has a strong Board and management team, and, as Mr Buckeridge would have wanted, is continuing with ‘business as usual’.

BGC is grateful to the WA business community for the support and condolences that have been extended to the Company in the wake of Mr Buckeridge’s passing.

Details of the Len Buckeridge memorial service are as follows:
