BGC Contracting Awarded Cape Preston Contract
BGC Contracting has been awarded the civil works for the Cape Preston Desalination plant for CITIC Pacific Mining’s Sino Iron Ore Project.
The contract includes the civil works for the desalination plant with a contract value for the initial works in the order of $40 million.
The Sino Iron Ore project is a large scale Greenfield magnetite project located at Cape Preston, 100 km south of Karratha in the Pilbara region of WA. The project requires a 140ML/day desalination plant to provide process water to be used in the transport of the iron ore slurry from the mine site to the outloading facility.

Work is set to commence immediately and be completed over the next 6 months.
