BGC Contracting Wins Another Macedon Contract
BGC Contracting has been awarded the Site Preparation Contract at BHP Billiton Petroleum’s Macedon Project.
The contract involves the bulk earthworks and the preparation of the main plate area for the gas plant at Onslow and is valued at about $20 million. This complements the previously awarded Access Road package at the Technip managed project.
The Macedon Project is a domestic gas plant that will be operated by BHP Billiton with first production expected in 2013. The gas plant will have a design capacity of 200 million standard cubic feet per day intended for sale to the domestic gas market in Western Australia.
Greg Heylen, Executive General Manager Civil said “This award is a direct result of the good work our site team have put into developing a good relationship with our client on site. This strong relationship is ensuring that all stakeholders’ expectations are being met. Importantly for BGC, more work at Macedon adds to our capability for earthworks and civil work on industrial plants.”
Work on the contract has already commenced and will be completed by December 2011.
